Friends of Lion Heart Medical Center stay connected, keep supporting
Over the past 15 years, the Lion Heart Medical Centre (LHMC) has grown from a small clinic to a fully equipped hospital, thanks to the dedication and support of many in Sierra Leone, the Netherlands, and beyond. On January 1, 2026, the hospital will be handed over to a Sierra Leonean board and management team – a significant step towards becoming a fully locally run and sustainable hospital.
To support LHMC during this transition, a group of doctors and volunteers has launched a new initiative: Friends of Lion Heart Medical Centre. This network aims to share experiences, stay in touch, and find ways to help the hospital in this new phase. Together, we will continue to build the future of healthcare in Sierra Leone – with friendship, dedication, and resilience! Together, we can create a strong network and additional support and funding for the hospital!
How does it work?
You can become a Friend of LHMC for a minimum of €7,50 per month. This way, you directly support the hospital, and you get a lot in return: an annual event, a caring community, and regular updates about the hospital and our initiatives.
You can become a member right away!
Download and fill in this form and send it to friends@lion-heart.nl. The monthly amount will be debited by direct debit by the Lion Heart Foundation. Friends of LHMC is part of the Lion Heart Foundation, a Dutch foundation with CBF certification and ANBI status.
