In recent months, patients have not only come and gone, but we have also had to say goodbye to a number of familiar faces: longtime driver Abdul Larkoh (better known as Zaro) will fully focus on his successful entertainment center, Janneke has completed her training as a tropical doctor and doctor Hasan has just been admitted to that training after half a year of volunteer work in LHMC, chief CHO Alpha wants to work closer to his family and especially his newborn daughter, volunteer nurse Amie just had to start earning money again and cleaner Alfred returns to school after years of supporting his family financially!
Fortunately, we have received many good replacements, which we would like to introduce to you in the coming newsletters. First of all: surgical officer Patrick (on the right in the photo) has taken over the position of Mohamed Bangura. Like its predecessor, it is extremely skilled in repairing hernias and many other operations. We are very happy that with his arrival the surgical team is complete again. We also have a new surgical intern: Emmanuel (left), who is already in his second year of CapaCare training. He works in LHMC for five months and wants to learn as much as possible about wound care, skin grafts and complex fractures.
