As a teaching hospital we work together with several universities and medical institutes in the country. One of our ambitions is to strengthen the Sierra Leonean health system as a whole by training our own staffers and providing many internship opportunities. At the moment we have the biggest batch of nursing students in the history of our hospital: 10 students from Ernest Bai Koroma University in Makeni, and 20(!) students from Njala University in Bo (on the picture). At LHMC they get a lot of supervision and guidance, whilst being motivated to practice and learn. They will stay with us for two months, supporting our nurses and gaining a lot of experience!
Help us make our hospital independent. That can be done in different ways. For example, you can make a one-off donation, authorize us to make a monthly donation or help us in kind. You can read all about it on our pages to donate en help you with.
