The festive opening of the Lion Heart Pure Water factory was a great success! High representatives of the Ministry of Health had come to Yele for the special occasion. They had a long meeting with our management about improving mutual cooperation and the future of LHMC. After a tour of the hospital, they also spoke to the employees about their wishes and ideas. Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr. Mustapha Kabba expressed his gratitude for the long-standing support of the Lion Heart Foundation in the Netherlands and stressed the need to work together on a transition plan for the government to gradually take over the hospital.
Many familiar faces from Yele gathered at the water factory for the supreme moment: the cutting of the green-white-blue ribbon. This honor fell to Dr. Kabba, who praised LHMC's initiative: 'Lion Heart shows that it is possible to also do business and raise funds for the hospital activities, in addition to helping the community.' Afterwards, the public poured into the factory to take a look for themselves. Joy and pride dominated the event. "I think this is one of the happiest days of my life," said a beaming Yankuba Sesay, the hospital manager, in his speech.
