The start of a drier period means the start of a new 'outreach cycle'. Every Friday for the next few months we will visit one of our clinics in our district and provide education about brushing teeth, oral hygiene and high blood pressure. Every week two alternating employees go to a clinic to give the explanation. Because we are providing information about brushing teeth this time, we will also hand out toothbrushes and toothpaste afterwards.
In preparation for this new round of community outreach, we organized a successful training day for the employees of the clinics. It was a mixed group of midwives, nurses and clinical officers who received a full day of training at Lion Heart. Various hospital employees explained the topics of the outreach, but also, for example, also about the different phases of childbirth and the correct way of referral. Finally, all participants received a certificate as proof of participation and there was a delicious meal prepared by our own chefs.
