We received two visitors from Wilde Ganzen (“Wild Geese”), a donor agency based in the Netherlands. They support several NGOs in Sierra Leone and are one of the main sponsors of our hospital. For every project we undertake, Wilde Ganzen sponsors 1/3rd of the finances. The main goal of the visit was to follow up on the projects that we finished in the last couple of years, like the new OPD building, the water factory and the maternity waiting home, and to discuss our strategies to become fully independent from the Netherlands.
Esly (in the picture on the right) is a Project Officer and Sven (left) is a Finance Controller.
During the visit they were very positive about Lion Heart Medical Center and they were impressed with our managerial and financial standards. The visit was followed by a two-day financial training in Makeni for all their partners in Sierra Leone, in which our Hospital Manager and Finance Manager (also in the picture) participated.
