As a teaching hospital we work together with several universities and medical institutes in the country. One of our ambitions is to strengthen the Sierra Leonean health system as a whole by training our own staffers ànd providing many internship opportunities. At the moment we have the biggest batch of nursing students in the history of our hospital: 10 students from Ernest Bai Koroma University in Makeni, and 20(!) students from Njala University in Bo (on the picture). At LHMC they get a lot of supervision and guidance, whilst being motivated to practice and learn. They will stay with us for two months, supporting our nurses and gaining a lot of experience!
