Lion Heart Medical Centre is on the way to become sustainable and completely run by Sierra Leoneans in 2026. Having a Media Team that is both local ànd professional is vital as they showcase the hospital to Sierra Leone and the world. Our newly established team consists of people who work in LHMC every day: Ishmael is the cashier, Jalloh and Adama are both Community Health Officers, Josephine and Beatrice are nurses and John is the manager of the laboratory. They have received proper training, and they have shown great motivation to improve our external communication on Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and in this newsletter. But the phones they use are too old to make professional content.
We have started a crowdfunding campaign to provide them with a new Ipad & Iphone that will be stored in a safe locker in the hospital, and with the training to use this equipment to its full potential.
