We are happy to announce that the long running Well Body Talk Show is back on the radio. This radio programme has played a key role in our communication to local communities for many years, as radio is the most popular media source in Sierra Leone. Radio Gbonkolenken has had some technical issues, but as they are back on the airwaves, we have also found our way back.
The aim of the programme is to share reliable health information and advice, as well as updates from the hospital. Every week, a different department visits the radio show. Last week, Franklyn Seppeh, our finance manager, went on the radio to explain the prices of medical services and payment procedures at the hospital, as well as the general management of LHMC’s financial resources and the financial challenges faced by the hospital.
Soon, we will also be launching our Video Health Advice Series, which will deliver short, informative, and easy-to-understand health messages on various social media platforms. Especially Tiktok is a quickly upcoming platform, with much misinformation, where we hope to spread correct health information. The name Well Body Talk, or Well Bodi Tok in Krio, will also be used for these series.
